Obituary of Emily F. Paulette

Troy Emily F. Paulette, 83 of Colonie, formerly of Wynantskill, NY, died on Sunday, June 10, 2012 after a brief illness. Born in Nassau, NY, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Mary Frances (Cofferan) Miller. Emily had resided for the past 7 years in Colonie after living in Wynantskill for 25 years. She had been a resident of Troy from 1960 to 1973. Emily was a graduate of Columbia High School, continuing her education at Bishop Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, where she earned her nursing degree in 1949. As an R.N., Emily was a gifted healer who devoted her career to bringing life into the world through Labor and Delivery nursing. She was employed by Pittsfield General in Pittsfield, MA, Samaritan Hospital in Troy, NY and at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany from where she retired in 1992. Emily loved to read and garden, she also enjoyed sewing, music and most importantly her family and grandchildren. Emily and her beloved Richard traveled to many destinations over their 62 years of marriage. Emily is survived by her husband Richard C. Paulette, Sr. whom she married on October 8, 1949. She is also survived by children: Kathleen (Kenneth) Cottrell of Speigletown, NY, Donna Lombard (the late James Lombard III) of Rochester, NY, Sandra (Douglas) Anderson of Niskayuna, NY and Richard C. (Lisa) Paulette, Jr., of Marion, MA. She was the grandmother of: Katelyn Cottrell, Zachary Walker, Christopher, Molly and Kyle Hartley, Meagan and Alyssa Hennessy and Abigail Paulette. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be conducted on Friday morning at 10 o'clock at the Riverview Funeral Home, Inc., 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th Street). Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may also call at the Riverview Funeral Home on Thursday from 5 to 8 PM. Interment will follow at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY 12871.
