Obituary of Marie Theresa Davey

Troy, New York Marie Theresa Davey, 64, died on Sunday, October 9, 2011 at St. Peter's Hospital, Albany after a short, but courageous battle with cancer. Born in Troy on June 14, 1947, she was the daughter of the late M. Michael and Emma H. (Nikischer) Rehonis. Marie was a lifelong city resident. She was employed for several years at Gardenway as a customer service representative. She was an active member of the former St. Patrick's Church, devoutly attending Mass on a daily basis. She served as an acolyte, member of the bereavement committee, helped with the church food pantry and also assisted with secretarial duties. Marie loved spending time with family and friends and will be greatly missed by all. Marie was the wife of the late Chuck Davey, who passed away in January of 2007. She is survived by her daughter, Anne M. Davey of Troy; and by her siblings: Emma Davey (Paul); Elizabeth Wagner (George); John Rehonis (Kim); Peter Rehonis; Irene Taber (William); Patty Cross (Jim); Richard Rehonis and Ruth Richardson (Dale). She was also predeceased by an infant sister, Lori Rehonis. Marie was the grandmother of Andrew Cooper (Frances) and Erin Rinaldi (Matt). Several nieces and nephews also survive her. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 15, at 9:30 am from St. Michael's Church, Cohoes. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. At the family's request, there will be no calling hours. Marie's family wishes to thank her doctors, the staff of St. Peter's Hospital, and St. Mary's Hospital, Troy, for all the care and kindness shown to Marie during her recent illness. Her funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Riverview Funeral Home, Inc. 218 Second Avenue, Troy, NY 12180.
