Don was such a caring man. I remember when I volunteered to drop his grand-daughters (Carly & Emily) off in-between one of my 3 jobs to their house. He had a sandwich waiting for me, wrapped and ready to go for the road. They were both such sweet people. They are together again in heaven. RIP Don.

I had the pleasure of playing golf in the Police/Firemens golf league with Don. Always had a hello and a word wherever we happened to run into each other. A true gentleman. My condolences to the family.

Big Foot or to tall which I always called him will be sorely missed by all his family who I send out my sincere condolences on your loss. Where do I start about a great man, I always had fun with him & his late wife, who he always called mother when I was with them, and he would make me laugh. Big foot and I enjoyed going to the track,OTB abd Joe's Tavern alot & also the Bucci McTague Post with my late wife. I remember how he would say mother could I get you anything! And I would laugh, he was so much fun to be around, & I would ride with him on occasions in the Det.Office car. Both his wife and him are now in haven & I'll say a prayer! I will end with what Big for years use to call me. The Fonz Ret.Det.Rich Keegan

Working around Police Court the Court officers like Fred Terwilliger had many great stories about "Bigfoot". I was happy to grant one of his requests about a week before he retired. RIP

My condolences to the family - I knew Don as a police officer in Albany, we worked at D-2 together and plainclothes. We golfed, tipped a few and enjoyed our Irish heritage! At a recent FOP meeting, I spoke of the fond days he and I shared. I was unaware that he was not well. God Bless you my Brother... Sl'ainte

I try to find something to say, something to write, something that will portray the man you were and are. Nothing compares. No song lyric will every come close to explaining how much I hurt inside and how much we all miss you. I keep telling myself not to cry, you would never want that. Everyone loves you so much and I just keep wishing you could be sitting in your chair watching all of your favorite game shows and the radar on the weather channel. I have wonderful memories of all the trips to great escape, thatcher park. You would walk so fast I could never keep up. Thanks for all the unforgettable moments you have gave me. You and nanny are finally reunited. Nanny and poppop, you are forever in my heart and always on my mind! Love you both.......:.......Jeff

To the greatest Pop-Pop ever, I was so blessed to have you in my life. You made my childhood whole, complete. I shed a million tears as I recall all the beautiful memories we shared. I miss playing Monopoly with you, even though you stole all the money! I recall all the exciting trips to Storytown. You loved that Log Ride, Pop-Pop! You were so big, so we always got soaked! Most of all, however, I miss the sleepovers. We would watch game shows and The Golden Girls, and you made your famous popcorn. I miss that reassuring sense of being รข
