Obituary of Mary K. Hmiel

Mary K. Hmiel, 83, of Colonie, NY passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2011, her sixty-third wedding anniversary, at home surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Syracuse, NY she moved with her husband and family to Colonie in 1962. She was a program coordinator at the Oswald D. Heck Developemental Center in Schenectady, NY until her retirement in 1981. She was predeceased by her parents James and Ann Keefe, her sister Ann, her brother Jim Jr., and her daughter Elaine Fossner. She is survived by her husband, Frederick; and her five sons, Stephen (Lisa) of Pleasant Garden, NC, Paul (Clarissa) of East Greenbush, NY, Adam of Pleasant Garden, NC, Luke (Kathleen) of Tequesta, FL and Joseph of Colonie, NY. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Shane, Tyler, Lily, Lucy, Noah, Kate, Christine, Kasey, Hallie and several nieces and nephews. At the request of the family, funeral services and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local Hospice or the American Cancer Society in Mary's name.
