Barb, Adele and I send our sincerest condolences to you and your family. You all have lost a talented and loving husband, father, grandfather (Sir) and great-grandfather. My oldest friend, Dick, has left. I've lost a life-long friendship of 79 years, but I still have all the good memories. God will keep Dick safe, and Dick will keep God busy!! Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I was sorry to hear of Dick's passing. I am Aunt Ethel's granddaughter. I remember as a child staying at Aunt Rose's and Uncle Stanton's house and going to the lake for a few days. As an adult, when Dick and Barb would come to visit in Muncie, we had a grand time. He had interviewed my Grandmother Melton, his Aunt Ethel and we all have the CDs that he made for us, such a kind, thoughtful, creative man. When Grandmother passed away, I have the painting that he painted for her in 1985. It is a winter scene with mountains, snow, pine trees, and barren birch trees. I wish all of you comfort and peace during this time. My life was enriched ten fold by knowing Dick and Barb. Lovingly, Patti J. West 1st Cousin, I think!

Barbara I am so sorry. Dick was a very talented man. I remember him especially as a child growing up with him across the street pestering my brother. All those baseball games in the road in front of our house and his wonderful photography. God bless your family in this difficult time.
