Obituary of Richard E. Chandler
Richard "Dick" Erwin Chandler, age 60, of Middle Grove, NY died peacefully at the VA Stratton Medical Center in Albany on September 26, 2010.
He was born in Corinth, NY on March 22, 1950.
He was the son of Eldonna Cameron Chandler and the late Harold Chandler.
Dick served in the Seabees during the Vietnam War operating heavy equipment and building airfields overseas. Dick owned and operated his own company, Dick Chandler Excavating in Middle Grove, NY.
He will be remembered by many as a person who took great pride in his work and his legacy will live on in the beautiful homes and landscapes he created throughout the area.
He leaves surviving his loving wife, Charlotte "Brandy" Chandler, his daughter, Sherie Fox (Scott) and his granddaughter, Shauni Fox all of Middle Grove, NY.
He is also survived by his mother Eldonna a brother Bruce (Sharon) a sister Joy Miller (Jack) and three nephews and one niece all of Middle Grove.
There will be no calling hours.
Burial will be private at a later date at Hutchings Cemetery in Greenfield Center.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at the Old Stone Church, 159 Stone Church Road just off Rt. 29 on Saturday, October 9th at 12 Noon.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
