Obituary of Eleanor Marie Feurstein

Eleanor Marie Feurstein, 94 formerly of Thompson St., Schenectady, died Saturday evening, December 5, 2009. Eleanor was born in Utica, NY and moved to Schenectady in 1923. She was a communicant of The Church of the Immaculate Conception as well as a member of the church's Altar Rosary Society and the I.C.C. Senior Citizens. For many years Eleanor volunteered for church bingo, she also shared her talents making quilts and comforters for the Carmelite Nuns and for "The Christ Child", an organization which assists single mothers. Eleanor loved all animals and especially cats. Eleanor was predeceased by her husband, Joseph C. Feurstein (1985) a son Joseph (Butch) Feurstein (1966) and her brother Edward Trieble. She is survived by her children: Donald Allen Feurstein of Florida, Marilyn K.(Gene)Phillips of Rotterdam and Raymond(Joan)Feurstein of Schenectady. Funeral Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Bradt St., Schenectady where the Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may also call at the Immaculate Conception Church on Tuesday from 4 to 6 pm. Interment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions in Eleanor's memory be made to the Animal Shelter of Schoharie, PO Box 40, Howes Cave, NY 12092.
