Obituary of Warren H. Lenhardt

Albany, NY – Warren H. Lenhardt passed away peacefully on Sunday September 17, 2023, at age 94.

He is survived by his daughter Karen Mackey Evans (Donald), son Mark Lenhardt (Karen) of Penfield, NY and grandchildren Carly, Christopher and Sam.  He was predeceased by his loving wife of 58 years, Barbara.

Warren was born September 8, 1929 to George and Helen Lenhardt in Rochester, NY.  After proudly serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, Warren graduated from the University of Rochester, then received his MBA from Northwestern University in Chicago.  Newly married, Warren and Barb returned to settle in Pittsford, NY and soon started their family.  Warren worked in finance at the Xerox Tower in Rochester for most of his career.

In retirement, Warren helped Barb with her antique business, consulted local businesses and enjoyed watching the Buffalo Bills games at Thirsty’s with his friends.

Warren loved his vacations on Lake George, Cape Cod, Toronto and skiing at Snow Ridge in Turin, NY.  Fishing trips to Gananoque, Canada held a special place for him as well.

He will be remembered for his kind heart, welcoming smile and his ability to talk with any one he met along the way.

The family would like to thank his caregivers for their compassion and support throughout his time living in Delmar:  Lisa, Corey, Joy, Heather, Jenn and Miliza.  Thanks also to the staff at The Massry Assisted Living Residence in Albany, as well as the staff at Albany Associates in Cardiology.

Family will receive friends at the American Legion Post at 16 West Poplar Drive Delmar, NY 12054 on Thursday September 21, 2023 from 4 to 7pm to celebrate Warren’s life.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Legion Post in Delmar, NY or the American Heart Association.
