Obituary of Frederick E. Kilburn
SCHAGHTICOKE –
Frederick E. Kilburn, 88, of Schaghticoke, passed away on November 19, 2023 in the comfort of his own home.
Born on September 2, 1935 in Troy, Frederick was raised on 2nd Avenue near the Hudson River in Troy. Frederick was a Korean War Veteran and served his country faithfully in the US Army from 1955 until 1962 receiving an honorable discharge for his service.
Mr. Kilburn was a truck driver for the Grand Union stores for over 50 years. He was a hard worker and did not retire until he was 75 years old. Mr. Kilburn was a member of the American Legion Post 91 in Mechanicville. A true outdoorsman, Fred enjoyed riding snowmobiles and four wheelers. Family and friends would call him a “Jack of All Trades” as he possessed a talent for building projects.
Frederick was the devoted husband of 49 years to the late Katherine Kilburn, who predeceased him in 2007.
Survivors include two children: Frederick (Claudia) Kilburn and Deborah (Kilburn) Riley,
his grandchildren: Tim Kilburn and David (Jessica) Dudley, and great grandchildren: Brianna, Riley and Mason.
Cremation has taken place through the care of The Riverview Funeral Home, Inc.
Relatives and Friends are invited to visit and celebrate Frederick’s life from 1-3PM on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at the Kilburn Residence, 620 Knickerbocker Road, Schaghticoke, NY 12154.
