Obituary of Wendy Anne Tarricone

TROY –

Wendy Anne Tarricone, 60, of Troy, died peacefully on January 11, 2024 following a hard-fought battle with cancer.

She was a graduate in the field of education from SUNY Plattsburgh and the University of South Carolina, and was a teacher at Tamarac Elementary School for 30 years.

As a child, Wendy moved around New York State quite a bit, but she always considered herself a “North Country girl” due to the considerable time spent with her grandmother, Helen Mitchell, in Potsdam and Colton. She loved nature, animals, camping, music, painting, drawing and she especially loved cooking. She was proud to use her cooking skills to work at a soup kitchen and at her friend's Bistro 42 after her retirement from teaching.

Wendy is survived by her sons, Nicholas J. Tarricone and Christopher D. Tarricone, their father, David Tarricone and her mother Mary Lou Snyder. She is also survived by her brothers: Daniel Claflin (Ericka) and Robert Claflin, and her stepsister Denise Folino (Jeff).

Additionally, Wendy is survived by several nieces and nephews along with many close friends, acquaintances, and her four loyal and loving cats.

Wendy was predeceased by her father, David Lee Snyder and her sister Cathy Claflin.

Relatives and Friends are invited to visit with Wendy’s family and may call from 12PM until 3PM on Saturday, January 20, 2023 in the Chapel of the Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th Street) Troy, NY 12180.
