Obituary of Keith Alan Giles

TROY –
 
Keith Alan Giles, 59, of Troy, departed this life unexpectedly on July 31, 2024.
 
A lifelong resident of Troy, Keith was born on June 9, 1965. He was a son of the late William Raymond Giles and June Marie (Gushue) Giles.
 
Keith received his education from Troy High School, class of 1984. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1984. During his time in the Navy he was a ship fitter and received an honorable discharge in 1987 for his service at the rank of Petty Officer Third Class. Keith relocated to San Diego, California for a period of about 3 years, eventually returning to Troy living the remainder of his life locally.
 
Mr. Giles was a mechanical engineer by trade and was a member of the Operating Engineers Union, Local 158. He was formerly employed at Precision Concrete and United Rentals.
 
Keith was a classic car enthusiast and collector. He also took great pride in his ability to restore classic cars to their former glory. His 1964 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu and 1965 Mustang Fastback were his pride and joy.
 
He leaves behind his only daughter, Andrea Giles (Daniel Budka, Jr.), as well as his grandchildren: Alexandra Brammer, Jackson Brammer and Daniel Budka III. His siblings: Donna Green and William C. Giles (Kristie). Also surviving are his life time close friends: Bobby Caprara, Jr. and Rick Johnson, as well as two nephews and one niece.
 
In addition to his parents, Keith was predeceased by one brother, Greg Giles, and his life partner and fiance of 24 years, Connie R. Kennedy, who passed away in March 2022.
 
Relatives and Friends are invited to call from 4-6PM on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 in the Chapel of the Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th Street) Troy, NY 12180. The calling hours will conclude with a prayer service in the funeral home.
