Obituary of Melissa N. Kehn
CLIFTON PARK –
It is with profound sadness that the family of Melissa N. Kehn, 41, of Clifton Park, NY, formerly of Watervliet, announces her passing on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at Albany Medical Center Hospital.
Born on August 15, 1983, in Troy, NY, she was the beloved daughter of Donald J. Kehn, Jr. and Sandra A. (Daigneault) Kehn of Troy. Melissa was a proud graduate of Watervliet High School, Hudson Valley Community College (where she earned an Associate’s Degree), and the Samaritan School of Nursing.
Melissa worked as a Registered Nurse at several hospitals in the Capital Region, including Samaritan Hospital, Albany Memorial Hospital, and Albany Medical Center.
Having endured the heartbreaking loss of her own infant daughter, Zoey Faith LaMora, who passed away prematurely in 2015, Melissa became deeply compassionate toward others experiencing similar grief. She devoted much of her time to supporting parents of premature babies, even knitting hats for them and volunteering in various ways to offer comfort. Melissa also cherished her dogs, Bellia and Gemma.
Melissa is survived by her loving parents, Donald and Sandra Kehn, as well as her devoted siblings: James, Billy (Sheree), and Bonnie Allman; Cindy (Brian) VanVranken; and Donald (Desirae) Kehn III. She was a doting aunt to her nieces and nephews: Aiden, Ava, and Deven Allman; Billy, Dylan, and Ryan Allman; DJ Allman; Abby, Andrew, and Brandon VanVranken; Leighton and Margaret Kehn; and Roseanne and Morgan Waters.
Melissa is predeceased by her infant daughter, Zoey Faith LaMora (January 4, 2015), and her grandmothers, Evelyn Daigneault and Angela Kehn, who welcomed her into Heaven.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, December 5, 2024, in the Chapel of Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th Street), Troy, NY 12180. Fr. Thomas Morrette, Pastor of Our Lady of Victory Church, will officiate. The Rite of Committal will follow at St. John’s Cemetery in Lansingburgh. Calling hours will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
